From the recording Undercurrent
This EP features three guest vocalists who all bring something unique to the table. Yahara Leone - appearing first on the song Nail - is a long-time church friend of Max's. The two have been singing together for a long time and have collaborated on various recordings and live performances. Yahara's appearance on "Nail" in particular is special because the song was originally written about her - an encouragement to follow her dreams and not doubt herself. This was the perfect opportunity to include her on the song in a style more suited to her own music.
Maxwell Kozen - Vocals, Acoustic Guitar, Bass
Jericho Leal - Acoustic Guitar
Jared Leal - Cajon, Bongos, Shaker, Tambourine, Triangle
Sid Harris: Piano
Antonia Lawrence: Vocals
Yahara Leone: Vocals
Lyrics
Don’t you know just what you’re made of?
Child I see you there
Regretting all you couldn’t be
A fearful wonder when you wake up
‘Cause you were unaware
That you have a destiny
Nail the lid shut on your past
The casket for your doubts
Who you're meant to be is yours for finding out
Don’t be satisfied with a compromise
When you realize that you’re worth so much more
Don’t be scared to try; raise your colours high
If you don’t then I’m afraid you’ll never know
You’re a child of eternity
Seen by Divine eyes
Bought by sacrifice
And led into the light
Nail your colours to the mast
And let the whole world know
You’re not scared to face the danger on your own
Don’t be satisfied with a compromise
When you realize that you’re worth so much more
Don’t be scared to try, raise your colours high
If you don’t then I’m afraid you’ll never know
Someday you will wake, and you won’t run away
Don’t be satisfied with a compromise
When you realize that you’re worth so much more
Don’t be scared to try, raise your colours high
If you don’t then I’m afraid you’ll never know
Don't you want to feel a little more alive
And live with open eyes?
(Show me your reality)
If you can believe then you will find
You're just in time
Yield up every doubt
That holds you
Sail the skies
And breathe beyond the blue
Someday you will wake, and you won't run away
